About Sharjah Electricity and Water Company: SEWA was initially incorporated as a private organization called the Sharjah Electricity & Water Authority. Based on the efficiency of the organization and its reputation, ownership was transferred from the private sector to the government of Sharjah, and it became known as the Sharjah Electricity & Water Department. An economic and financial boom was witnessed in this industry, and as a result, the ruler of Sharjah issued a visionary decree ordering the establishment of SEWA as an independent organization to provide water, electricity, and natural gas to all residents of Sharjah, whether national or foreign.
