About SERCO: Serco Dubai Metro features automated, driverless trains and fully air-conditioned stations. The trains are operated by Serco, which is owned by the RTA (Roads and Transport Authority). The Metro began operations on September 9th, 2009, under the direction of Dubai’s Ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Following the successful launch of the Dubai Metro, Serco experienced a massive influx of passengers who were desperate to travel and enjoy the ride.
